Katsina State Government said a total of 2,211 most vulnerable households have been earmarked to benefit from the victims support fund VSF intervention in the state.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari said this during a flag up of the distribution of food palliatives personnel protective equipment and essential hygiene products donated to katsina State Government by the victims support fund of the TY Danjuma foundation at Central store katsina.
Governor Masari further explain that each beneficiaries will receive 10kg of Rice,10kg of maize, 10 kg of Beans, 1 gallon of cooking oil and 1kg of salt.
He also said additional personal protection, essential medical and hygiene products have been provided for use in isolation centers and other public places to curtail the spread of the virus.
Alh Aminu Bello Masari appreciated the gesture that provide the needed relief intended to the two thousand, two hundred and eleven vulnerable house holds across the state.
The Governor assured that victims support funds food items will reach the targeted beneficiaries across the state under a well structured arrangements.
He further explain that a high powered committee at state, local government and ward levels has set up to handle the selection distribution and monitoring of the palliatives.
Alh Aminu Bello masari noted that success has been recorded in the first and second phase of palliative distribution.
Earlier the State Deputy Governor Alh Mannir Yakubu who is also the chairman state emergency response committee on COVID-19 in the state said COVID-19 pandemic in the state and the nation in general witnessed an unprecedented solidarity and cooperation between the private sector, federal and state government towards addressing the negatives effects of the pan in the state and the nation in general.
He said that the victims support funds has donated over eleven thausand 11,000 assorted food items, medical equipment and hygiene products for distribution to the most vulnerable house holds internally displaced person IDPs and isolation centers.
Alh Mannir Yakubu said a robust implementation committee with membership drawn from relevant Government Agencies community leaders ,civil society and faith based organization, local government implementation committee and members of the state house of assembly have been constituted to undertake the distribution of the food relief items in order to reach the desired people.
One of the beneficiaries Malama Sadiya expressed gratitude for the gesture to victims of COVID-19 displaced person and other vulnerable groups.
